About Us Our History |
Hikari Kosakusho, predecessor of Hikari Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd., was
founded in March 1946 in the chaos that followed World War II. The founder,
Yoshimitsu Nishioka, an engineer of electric generators believed that it
was the light time to start a business. In a simple factory, six engineers
worked overhauling and maintaining spinning machines. Those days in Japan, distribution of machine tools was not yet established and private factories purchased used machines from military factories. However, as precision surface grinding machines were difficult to acquire, they manufactured their own.Their well-built machine soon caught the attention of a trading company, which showed great interest in selling it in both domestic and overseas markets. That was in the spring of 1955, and marked a significant milestone in Hikarifs history. |
